Therapy
There are many reasons for seeking therapy, often it is because we feel there is a problem to be addressed, whether that is feeling emotionally out of balance, experiencing stress or overwhelm, recognizing past traumatic experiences and their impact on us in the present, ongoing relational conflicts, or otherwise. Having a place to process and explore, to be given new perspectives or offered new skills for managing experiences, having someone to listen and offer empathy, can lead to growth and healing.

I have special interest, including training and experience, in working with women, particularly in regards to trauma, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, motherhood, nutrition for mental wellness, effective communication and relationship conflict.
Holistic Wellness
Mental health refers to one's psychological and emotional wellbeing. Many people often consider their mental health in isolation from other parts of their lives and self, however our mental health is greatly impacted by what we eat, the activities we engage in, our hormones, the social supports we have, our relationships, our work, our environment, etc.
An important aspect of my therapy practice is to address not only your psychological and emotional ailments, but to do so in the context of the bigger picture, including nutrition, supplementation, addressing sleep, time outdoors, movement, exposure to illnesses and toxins, injuries, relationships and social interactions, and so on.

My Approach
My ultimate goal is to provide safe space for my client to feel seen, heard, respected, and empowered, in order to encourage and promote one’s journey towards healing. I utilize a holistic, healing-centered counseling approach, focusing on promoting emotional and psychological healing through a person-centered, trauma-informed, somatic lens.
I work with each individual based on their specific needs. This may look like utilizing mindfulness therapy to reengage with your body, to find grounding or access stored trauma. It often includes in depth processing of your experiences to work towards integrating your physical experience with your thoughts and emotions. Doing so can help you to better understand yourself, and learn to effectively communicate your thoughts, needs, and feelings to those you are in relationship with.
Some sessions may look very practical and task-oriented, others may be more focused on processing and experiencing emotions. Sometimes you may just need someone to sit with you in the midst of difficulty. Seeking help and support is counter cultural and courageous, you are choosing to care for yourself in a powerful way. You are capable and worthy of growth and healing, and I am here to encourage and empower your pursuit. I look forward to meeting you.
